Doesn’t everybody wonder what to put here? What do you share with people that already know you….and those who may know nothing other than that you save a lot of money on groceries. Oh, and that you heart coupons? Well, anyone who knows me, knows I tend to share too much. But, I’ll give this a whirl.

I am a 33 year old mom of 3 who has been married to my best friend for almost 14 years. My kids are 14 (boy), 12 (girl) and 7 (boy). Between them and their friends that come through the invisible revolving front door of our home, they eat. And eat. And then graze. And then eat some more. Our grocery bill was usually about $220 a week. (Low end was $180, high was $250) I was shopping at WalMart because they were the cheapest. I had tried coupons over 10 years ago, but it seemed like I was spending more on the product with a coupon than if I had just bought the store/generic brand. I knew what coupons are intended to do. They want to get you to try it – so you fall in love with it and continue to buy it!

It was May of 2009 when I was laid off unexpectedly. I didn’t know what we were going to do. But, I knew that we could definitely cut some spending. I started to do research and learned a lot about coupons, sales, stores and the cycles of all 3. I had no job, so it didn’t matter to me how much time I spent each week. However, let me be clear – it took A LOT of time each week. I spent about 10 hours a week clipping, sorting, organizing, printing, planning, preparing, shopping. I just kept wondering how much longer would I do this before I quit? Enter the point where I think most people give up. But, I kept going. It became an obsession. It was like a game to see just how much I could get for very little…or FREE!

In December of 2009, I was asked to speak at an event. I still was unemployed, so I started to brainstorm. I always wanted to do something that I loved and that I felt good about! THIS was it! I decided to turn teaching people how to coupon and save money into a business. There is no hidden agenda or sneaky sales tactics. I teach YOU how to do what I do – and I save you all the errors and time wasted on getting started!
